Tribute - Mezzo Soprano Elena Obraztsova

Through my various work projects with Maestro Francesco Siciliani-former Head of Italian Radio & Television, the Festivale di Sacra Umbra in Perugia, and also Milan’s opera house, Teatro alla Scala-I remember a comment that Mo. Siciliani’emphatically made to me that I and Mezzo Soprano Elena Obraztsova should meet and sing Verdi together. I did meet Elena at some point later, and, true to Siciliani’s prediction, we hit it off like two compatible souls. She was her own person, artist and singer, and she set her own precedent. This, God knows, is surely my devout credo as well! Happily, life has a way of serving us people who are harmonious in goal orientation and zest, Maestro Siciliani no exception, and these people gratefully coax our spirits to mambo and tango! And so it was with Elena Obraztsova, who has left an indelible thumbprint on all she pursued and touched through the arts. She was a great value to the world in her lifetime, personally and artistically, and will continue to thrive in memory
