Creativity, You & Your Time
As a creative artist, a major key into personally realizing the 'devotion quota' you invest in your craft, is understanding where, with what, and with whom you spend your time and your thoughts.
Reinvention
In some degree, creative artists need continual reinvention. Continual reinvention keeps public interest and saleability alive, however small or large.
Beautiful vs. Artistic
The beautiful performance is surely desirable and sought after, but beauty alone is not enough to create a lasting memory legacy. It is artistry in performance, which makes it memorable. If both entities are present, it may be uniquely 'Individual.'
Criticism
Criticism is important feedback toward excellence and a strong self-esteem, but we must be careful not to put our self-esteem in the hands of those who would criticize.
Risk Can Set Precedent
Interesting that throughout history innovators of note have usually been risk takers. This is notable in all facets of culture, power, politics, science, spirituality...Those who believed in ideas, trusting introduction of those ideas to wider audiences, very often set precedent in their own areas of expertise as well as on a universal level.
Luck
The importance of being ready is the luckiest part of luck.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness comes when we see, and emotionally accept, that there was nothing really to forgive.
Music Always
There is always music in the world. We must just silence the volume of our thoughts to hear it.
Joy is Singing

Color Palate of Emotions
Singing is energetically athletic, but being heard is not the only priority. Interpretive vocal colors open doors of comprehension for those listeners naive to languages and styles they are hearing. Emotional color nuances enhance the personal identification with the emotional content of a performance. One is touched, without necessarily delving overly deeply into the intellectual performance meaning.

Allow for Public Enjoyment
Don't EXHAUST your public with too much. All audiences need and want the chance to show appreciation, which is part of the whole experience (whatever metier). You do yourself and the public a disservice if you rob them of the RELEASE in showing pleasure. A lack of consideration here is unnecessary and can be a NEGATIVE if not thought through. Time your program, once you get into deciding what you want to have in it, and, if you’re doing a 50 minute CLASSICAL program, without intermission, or an hour “SET”, using the example of the JAZZ world, you still need to build an ARC in your program, with the ingredients (the menu) you have designed, creating: a beginning, a middle, and a close to YOUR event. This format is the first step in easing the public into ENJOYMENT of your event. Let them!
Moose are Great Deer
"Moose are big and really great deer,
And the males all wear a large headdress gear,
With antlers so huge and grand in their size,
That Moose do not even think to try to disguise
Their presence or why to appear they decide,
So they trumpet a very loud announcement noise,
A cow calling of sorts, though in volume less of poise,
Informing all females of just why they are about,
For it is wives for which they are on the lookout,
And upon those large antlers grows a mild covering skin,
Which over time dries and becomes rather thin,
So a Moose rubs it upon the occasional tree
And it does not take long before he is completely free,
And the shredded skin drops off in big sheets,
Falling to the ground and about the Moose’ feet,
And then he feels all mature and grown up,
Appearing to the world with a puff and a strut,
Showing himself with statuesque aplomb,
Wondering which females would be ready for ‘fun,’
And meanwhile he grazes the lakes of thick foliage there
Until he confronts a fierce and really large bear
And then he turns tail and runs for protection,
Hoping the forest will deter bear inspection,
And he can cover himself until the bear loses scent,
Unless the huge bear is on huge hunger bent,
In which case it will be a competition in running,
And those bears are fast and really most cunning,
So, with all the Moose grandeur, he does need to learn,
That a meek verses strong presence is important to discern.” JM
